Ferrasorb is a folate, vitamin B12 and iron supplement that offers a superior blood building effect. It provides the active forms of vitamin B12 (methylcobalamin and adenosylcobalamin) along with the active forms of folate (5MTHF and folinic acid). Although iron can be difficult for many people to take, Ferrasorb includes the well-absorbed, non-constipating form of iron: iron picolinate.

Hematinic formulas, such as Ferrasorb, provides the nutrients necessary for creating new red blood cells. According to many studies on the subject, using a hematinic formula, with a combination of vitamin B12, iron and folate, is more effective at producing red blood cells than supplementing with any one of these nutrients alone. This is because each nutrient depends on another for the proper formation of red blood cells. Symptoms of an Iron Deficiency

What is Picolinic Acid?

Picolinic acid is a metabolite of tryptophan, which is similar to niacin, and is produced naturally in the pancreas. It binds to minerals in the GI (gastrointestinal) tract and helps to facilitate their absorption into the bloodstream. Other iron supplements, including conventional supplementation, are made with other forms of iron, such as ferrous sulfate. Ferrous sulfate can cause undesirable GI side effects including constipation, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and dark-colored stools. This happens because the conventional forms of iron, including ferrous sulfate, are poorly absorbed by the body.
