Ingredients:
Chia seed pudding:
- 3/4 cup of chia seeds
- 1 1/4 tbsp of maple syrup
- 3 cups of coconut milk
- 3 tbsp of cocoa powder
Hazelnut layer:
- 2 cups of dark chocolate hazelnuts
Candy worms:
- 1 tbsp of agar agar powder
- 2 cups of water
- 2 tbsp of fruit powder of choice
- 10 strawberries, pureed
Directions:
Chia Seed Pudding:
- In a small bowl, add the coconut milk, chia seeds, maple syrup, and cocoa powder.
- Mix all the ingredients until they're well combined; to get fluffier pudding, use a whisk.
- Put the bowl in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours.
Hazelnut Layer:
- Crush the hazelnuts. You can either do this by hand, or add them to a food processor. You want the final product to have some chunks, so be sure to go slow to avoid powder-like consistency.
Candy Worms:
- Add 2 cups of water to a small pot, and add 1 TBSP of agar.
- Cook on medium heat, and keep stirring until a thick, honey-like texture is achieved.
- Once the texture is thick, add the strawberry powder and pureed strawberries. Continue stirring until everything is thoroughly mixed.
- Once everything is mixed, add the liquid to your mold. (To get the shape of the mold, you can use straws. Simply cut the straws in half and lay them down flat in a rectangular glass container. Once the straws are positioned correctly, add the mixture to the container.)
- Put your mold into the refrigerator, and allow it to thicken. This takes about 30 minutes.
- Once the 30 minutes are up, pop out your worms!
To Assemble:
- Use about 1/2 cup of your chocolate chia seed pudding to create a tasty "muddy" base for your worms.
- Next, add about 1/3 cup of your crushed hazelnuts on top of the mud to create your dirt layer.
- And finally, top off your snack with your worms! Add about 4-5 worms on top of the dirt, and you are good to go!
- Enjoy!
