Ingredients:
- 3 cups of soy wax or natural beeswax
- Glass container (large enough to fit 3 cups)
- Candle wick (long enough to fit container)
- 10 drops of citronella essential oil
- Hot glue gun
- Piece of paper
Directions:
- Bring some water to boil in a pan
- Add the 3 cups of your wax to a bowl.
- Once the water comes to a boil, add the bowl of the wax into the pan.
- Allow the wax to melt.
- While the wax is melting, on the glass container for your candle, mark the center of the bottom.
- Use your hot glue gun to glue the wick of the center of the bottom of your container.
- Once the wax is completely melted, pour the wax into the container, for this I used a piece of paper to make a funnel to avoid getting wax on the sides of my glass container.
- Add about 10 drops of the Citronella essential oil
- Allow to cool for about 24 hours.
- When ready, light outside and enjoy your mosquito free night!
Note: Be sure to use a pan inside of a pot when boiling the water. This way if the bubbles from the boiling get large, they won't spill into the wax in the bowl. Instead of using a piece of paper to act as a funnel, you can use an actual funnel, but clean up can be intense!
