This organic kitchari spice mix can be used in making Kitchari‚ an Indian comfort food. This seasoning blend is made with all organic spices‚ including turmeric‚ coriander‚ cumin‚ mustard‚ ginger‚ fenugreek‚ ajwain‚ and Himalayan pink salt.

How to Make Kitchari using Pure Indian Foods' Kitchari Spice Mix

INGREDIENTS:
• 1 TBSP Grassfed Organic Ghee‚ or Grassfed Organic Cultured Ghee.
• 1 teaspoon Kitchari Spice Mix.
• 1 cup Kitchari (uncooked).
• 3 1/2 cups water.

INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Prepare the kitchari by rinsing in a colander. Then‚ in a heavy-bottomed stockpot‚ melt the ghee.
2. Add the washed kitchari and sauté for a couple minutes.
3. Then‚ add the water‚ along with the kitchari spice mix. Bring to a boil‚ then reduce heat to low‚ and simmer partly covered for approximately 20 minutes or until it reaches the consistency of a stew. Add more water if needed. Stir occasionally.
4. Pour in bowls and serve hot. Garnish with ghee and cilantro leaves.
