Established in 1964, La Cooperativa Agraria Industrial Naranjillo Limitada was founded by 32 Peruvian farmers who sought a solution to the unfair prices they had historically received for their cocoa and coffee crops. Fast-forwarding 55 years later, the cooperative has grown incomparably: today 7363 members strong, it is Peru's largest producer of organic cocoa. In 2004 FLO certified them as Fair Trade Certified; since then Naranjillo continues striving for ever better quality standards benchmarked globally.
