History of Chyawanprash
Different ancient Indian texts such as the Mahabharata‚ Puranas‚ and others recount the tale of the Ashvin twins‚ revered as the royal physicians to the Devas during the Vedic era. It is said that they initially crafted the formulation for Chyavana Rishi to increase his immunity‚ stamina‚ and longevity at his Ashram located on Dhosi Hill near Narnaul‚ Haryana‚ India‚ thus giving rise to the name Chyavanprash. The earliest recorded recipe for Chyawanprash is found in the Charaka Samhita‚ an ancient Ayurvedic text dating back to the early first millennium BCE.
