Product Description
Experience the ancient African tradition of skin clarity and softness with Alaffia's Authentic African Black Soap. Crafted from centuries-old recipes using fair trade, organic unrefined shea butter and Orangutan-safe palm oil, this sulfate free liquid soap is further enriched with calming lavender essential oils to create a peaceful "spa like" shower experience. The steamy potash brew that completes its production process results in a gentle cleanser suitable for all skins; even those sensitive souls among us! Enjoy Wild Lavender aromas as you let your worries melt away into luxurious blissful calm.
Alaffia sources their natural West African palm oil from small-scale farmers in Togo, where it's extracted through Fair Trade cooperative methods. By doing so they help preserve the Maritime region while avoiding practices like industrial plantation farming that can endanger animals such as Orangutans - protecting both the environment and its inhabitants at once! Despite the stereotype of large-scale unsustainable farming, much of Africa's Palm Oil can actually be traced to small farms that have grown it as part a multi-cropped system for generations. Crucially though, Orangutans - often associated with palm oil production - are native only to Asia and not found on African soil at all.
