  • Kirkman's Zinc Sulfate Topical Cream is a soft‚ creamy‚ well-absorbed emulsion containing 100 mg of Zinc Sulfate USP (Heptahydrate) per one gram. This is equivalent to 22 mg of elemental zinc.

Zinc is present in every cell in the body and is also a component of over 200 enzymes. Actually‚ zinc is involved in more enzymatic reactions than any other mineral constituent in mammals. Zinc is essential for normal skin‚ vision‚ smell‚ taste‚ reproduction‚ brain development‚ protein synthesis and wound healing. The best sources of zinc are shellfish‚ fish and red meats with oysters being the richest source. Substantial amounts are also found in certain plant foods such as whole grains‚ legumes‚ nuts‚ mushrooms and some herbs. The zinc from plant sources is not absorbed well because it binds to a fiber compound in plant seeds called phytic acid to form an insoluble zinc-phytate complex that cannot be assimilated.

How much and when should I supplement with zinc?

Children and adults need between 10 mg and 50 mg daily. Though the recommended daily value is 15 mg‚ it is generally recognized that 30 to 50% of ingested zinc is not absorbed due to complexing with phytic acid‚ perspiration loss‚ fiber transport through the intestines‚ or because of the competition for absorption with copper‚ iron and calcium.

Kirkman's topical Zinc Cream is not a supplement. It is intended to be a topical cosmetic which may be beneficial to some individuals with skin conditions which respond to topical zinc. Check with your physician to evaluate whether topical zinc may help you.

    Totally Cures Cold Sores

Zinc Sulfate Topical Cream by Kirkman totally ridded me of cold sores. I haven't had even a hint of a cold sore in years, thanks to this product. Shared it with family, and everyone had the same result. No more cold sores--EVER! I've read that this particular kind of zinc cream (sulfate) penetrates the skin and somehow attracts the virus to it, where it dies. I'm not a doctor, but apparently the virus lives inside nerve tissues. All I know for certain is that it worked for me and my family. You don't have to wait until you have a cold sore to get rid of the virus. Just apply once daily for a few weeks, and say good-bye to your cold sores forever! I've read this may also work on genital herpes, but I don't have that, so I cannot comment on it one way or the other. I do know it is also effective on some kinds of skin fungus, but not all kinds. (There are a whole lot of different kinds.) It cures jock-itch when I occasionally get it. However, fungus spores are in the air, so nothing can completely "cure" such infections permanently.

    Pros

      It really works!!!

    Cons

It's kind of expensive, but well worth it

I would recommend this item to a friend.
