Gluten-Free Vegan Pretzels

Ingredients:


  • 2 1/4 teaspoons activated yeast
  • 1 cup warm filtered water
  • 3 tsp sea salt
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 1/2 cups gluten free all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking soda

Directions:


  1. Combine the warm water and yeast in a mixing bowl
  2. Allow to sit for 5 minutes and then add 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp oil olive, 1 tbsp maple syrup, stir
  3. Slowly add the flour to the mixture and combine until you are able to form a dough ball
  4. Prepare your surface by sprinkling flour, and begin to work with the dough by kneeding
  5. Coat a clean mixing bowl with oil, and add the ball of dough. Cover the dough with a towel and let rise for about 45 mins
  6. Cut the dough into even pieces, and roll out into 2 foot long strands
  7. Cut the strands into even pieces for your pretzel bites, about 1 1/2 inches long
  8. Bring a pot of water to boil, and then baking soda and 2 tsp salt
  9. Preheat the oven to 425 F
  10. In the boiling water, add your pretzel bites for 30 seconds and then remove and add to a prepared baking sheet with parchment paper
  11. When on the parchment paper, coat with olive oil and add a the remaining salt
  12. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown
  13. Let cool, and serve with a delicious mustard dipping sauce
  14. Enjoy!
