Product Description

WHAT IS LYSINE?

• Lysine, an essential amino acid, is found in muscle tissue. It promotes bone growth & collagen production, and is responsible for calcium absorption in the intestinal tract. Vitamins, especially B-6 and Vitamin C, are required for proper metabolism and conversion (with Methionine) into Carnitine. Although required by the body, as an essential amino acid it cannot be manufactured within the body, and must be obtained by consuming foods with
Lysine, or through supplementation.
• Many diets, including strict vegetarian, are low in Lysine. A proper ratio of 2 to 1 in relationship to Arginine levels is necessary for proper biochemical balance. Some of the foods high in Lysine are beef, cottage cheese,
chicken, tuna, turkey, and yogurt. There are small amounts in legumes and in some vegetables, such as potatoes.
• Some foods high in Arginine are nuts, seeds, soy protein, chocolate, carob, and coconut. Those consuming large amounts of these foods and small amounts of Lysine-rich foods may have a Lysine/Arginine imbalance. Lysine
supplementation will help to correct this imbalance. Since Arginine stimulates the activity of the Herpes virus, those with Herpes should restrict their consumption of these foods.
• Amino acid analysis of those with viruses such as Herpes, Epstein Barr and Mononucleosis show low levels of Lysine with imbalances in the Lysine/Arginine ratios. Supplementation with Lysine increases blood plasma
levels of Lysine. The higher levels of Lysine present in the plasma, the lower the incidence of Herpes outbreaks. Studies show Lysine inhibits the growth of the Herpes Virus. Continued use of supplementation is essential,
since discontinuing Lysine can quickly result in Lysine imbalances and new outbreaks of the virus.
• Stress, colds and sunlight can stimulate outbreaks, therefore, at these times (or if high Arginine foods are consumed) it is suggested that the dosage of L-Lysine be increased to maintain proper balance and help control
the severity, duration and recurrence of the outbreaks.

WHAT IS HERPES?
Herpes is a virus categorized into four types:
HERPES SIMPLEX

• Cold sores or fever blisters, also known as HHERPES LABIALIS Type 1, can cause ugly lesions around the mouth and lips. They affect a large portion of the population, with up to 80% being affected and half of them experiencing frequent outbreaks. These sores can be triggered by factors like exposure to sunlight, wind, stress, fevers, and diet. Moreover, the infection can lead to severe eye problems if the eye gets infected. Another concerning aspect is that it is highly contagious and can spread through direct contact, even causing genital herpes.
• Got genital herpes? Type 2 can cause blisters that burst into painful ulcers in your private bits. And guess what? At least 1 in 6 people over 15 are infected in the US. Ouch! Along with soreness down there, you might feel achy, feverish, and have swollen lymph nodes. The worst part? It can last for up to 3 weeks and the virus stays in your body, leading to rashes down the road. But it can be worse if you're pregnant and infected. Cesarean deliveries are usually recommended to protect infants from the virus. Also, people with weakened immune systems may suffer more, spreading the virus to their organs. Don't let genital herpes get the best of you.
• Suffering from EBV (also known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome)? Look out for extreme weakness, fatigue and muscle soreness, as well as possible fever and swollen glands. Prepare for the long haul as these symptoms can last for several weeks, months or even years! Don't be surprised if they come and go, too.
• Like EBV, CYTOMEGALOVIRUS (CMV) can also lead to Infectious Mononucleosis, which is commonly known as the "kissing disease". This virus is transmitted through direct oral contact and is prevalent in teenagers and young adults. The symptoms usually appear flu-like with fever, chills, sore throat, and headache. Swollen glands in the neck, groin, and armpits are common and may cause pain. Furthermore, the spleen may enlarge, and fatigue may persist for around 2-3 weeks or even longer.
• Don't let SHINGLES, also known as VARICELLA ZOSTER VIRUS, catch you off guard. This virus, which causes chickenpox, can lie dormant in your body until a reactivation occurs. The result is severe pain that arises from the virus attacking the nerve roots of your brain stem and spinal cord. This pain is often followed by a rash and blisters that form above the affected nerve. While any part of your body can be involved, it is especially common on the sides of your chest. Although the rash generally fades after around a week, the pain can last up to several weeks. It's crucial to act quickly if your face or eyes become infected, as this can lead to serious problems. Protect yourself from the discomfort and potential complications of SHINGLES – be informed and take action.
