      I ate the original bars for years and really loved them. These bars tasted very different, so I contacted Garden of Life to ask if they had made changes. A representative explained that Nestle had purchased the company and changed the contents. She added that they now use palm oil and they have received many complaints about the new chocolate fudge bars.

      This brand of bar was recommended by my nutritionist as a good source of protein without gluten, soy or dairy. I used to eat Luna bars and Think Thin bars as a quick meal replacement, but health issues have removed those products from my allowed foods. The chocolate fudge flavor is not great; it is tolerable as a quick replacement bar, but I would never say that it tastes like a brownie or anything. If you need a healthy protein bar, these are good, but don't expect too much in the flavor department.
