N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine (NAC) is derived from L-cysteine‚ an amino acid which is a precursor to glutathione‚ an important antioxidant. Only a limited amount of glutathione is naturally present in the human body; therefore‚ it must be synthesized from cysteine.

NAC is the primary antioxidant produced by your body‚ and is involved in a number of crucial metabolic processes. It also plays an important role in protein synthesis‚ the activation of enzymes‚ and the synthesis and repair of your DNA. NAC is also a source of sulfur; sulfur metabolism is a key biological process in all living organisms‚ because it acts as a constituent of molecules like methionine‚ cysteine‚ and coenzyme-A‚ all of which are crucial in energy generation and enzymatic processes.

L-cysteine is relatively unstable‚ and often it is degraded during the process of absorption to the point where your body is not able to use it. NAC‚ however‚ is more stable‚ which is why it’s well-suited to supplements. After absorption‚ NAC is converted into L-cysteine‚ which increases cysteine levels throughout the body. Each tablet of Allergy Research Group’s NAC N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine contains this free-form amino acid in order to provide you with many health benefits.

One bottle of NAC N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine contains 120 tablets‚ which is enough to last for up to four months‚ depending on your dosage.

My Doctor gave me the first bottle of NAC by Allergy Research Group and by the time I was half way through the contents it was doing what the Doctor said it could do and that was to help me keep my lungs clear. I then had my husband find an outlet to order an additional supply for me.

IF YOU HAVE LUNG ISSUES YOU MIGHT WANT

      from Oklahoma on 3/02/2013
In October I had severe lung congestion with a horribly deep cough that just wouldnt clear up. I went to a naturopathic doctor in Edmond OK for nutritional IVs. While there another patient who was a rep for a nutritional assessment testing company told me to get NAC as it helps build heathy lungs and is highly recommended for people with COPD. Having been a muscle therapist and distributor of nutritional supplements I am very familiar with the Allergy Research Group brand which I feel is one of the best. I began taking NAC N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine along with the other nutrients I had been taking that are known to help but hadnt been enough up to that point. It was the turning point! I am still taking one tablet most days to maintain as a precaution during the winter months-especially if I have any kind of head or chest congestion. I just ordered three more bottles to make sure my husband and I dont run out! Who knows when you might need to share a bottle with family or friends!

      Cons
