Magnesium Malate is a highly bioavailable form of magnesium. It contains di-magnesium malate‚ which is magnesium bound to malic acid. Magnesium is one of the most critical minerals in the human body‚ and is involved in hundreds of enzyme reactions. Malic acid is a compound found naturally in apples and other fruits and vegetables and is included because of its role in the Krebs cycle‚ the energy-producing system in the body.

This kind of magnesium has been very helpful for muscles and keeping things flowing in the digestive tract. I take two at night and sometimes one mid day. I wasn't sure about transitioning to a new product but this was easy for my body to adjust to it.

      Pros

Easy to incorporate to my routine and this one can be taken with food per my doctor.

      Cons

This one only comes in 360 mg which may be difficult for someone starting out.

These days I use the Magnesium Malate powder by this brand, but the pills are great in terms of convenience and for travel. I prefer malate to others because it doesn't have a laxative effect and mag glycinate tends to mess with my sleep.

I was taking a prescription for my leg cramps and restless leg. Medicare would not cover the prescription any more so I was told to try the Magnesium with Malate. It works great for my restless legs at night. I do not run out or miss a night. Wonderful!!

      Pros

I take 2 every night before bed. If I have had an extra active day and my legs are going crazy...I will take a 3rd. Works great.

      Cons

It's a bit big in size but I don't mind.
