bioflavonoids to provide support for symptoms associated with the
herpes simplex virus‚ commonly referred to as cold sores or fever
Lysamin-C is indicated as a nutritional adjunct to the treatment and prevention of symptoms
associated with herpes simplex virus.
Lysine has been shown to relieve symptoms associated with herpes simplex virus‚ commonly
referred to as cold sores or fever blisters. The mechanism of action is not completely understood‚ but it has been postulated from continuing studies‚ that the virus becomes activated in the presence of excess arginine and insufficient amounts of lysine. In theory‚ supplementing the diet with additional lysine brings the ratio up to a level which suppresses activation of the virus.
Vitamin C has also been shown to be essential for the proper functioning of the immune system (in particular viral immunity)‚ as have bioflavonoids‚ and these nutrients may assist the body in
suppressing the virus along with the additional lysine.
