  • Digestive and gastrointestinal (GI) tract problems can have a severely negative impact on your daily life. Seemingly mundane things like stress‚ a low-fiber diet‚ lack of exercise‚ consuming too many dairy products‚ and certain medications can contribute to your bowels working improperly. Common symptoms of GI disorders include constipation and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).

Suffering from any of these conditions may result in your gastrointestinal system failing to absorb nutrients from the food you eat and drink‚ in addition to those from any other supplements you may be taking. You may experience other serious health problems as a result of these deficiencies and not know why!

The active ingredients in Gastrazyme work to support healthy function of your digestive system‚ and help relieve the symptoms of inflammation‚ heartburn‚ and acid reflux. One of the most prominent is MMS‚ also known as methionine S-methyl sulfonium or “vitamin U” (although it’s not technically a vitamin). This compound has antioxidant properties and promotes the production of the gastric mucus that strengthens the stomach wall. Medical studies have found that red cabbage juice‚ which contains vitamin U complex‚ speeds up the healing of gastric ulcers. MMS also promotes healing after taking NSAIDs (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory agents).

These tablets also contain vitamin A‚ since deficiencies have been associated with an impaired immune system and a compromised barrier of the GI tract‚ potentially leading to more severe diseases. Other natural antioxidants included in Gastrazyme include oryzanol and chlorophyllin; the former has been shown to normalize the function of animals’ intestines when stressed or sleep-deprived.

Biotics Research’s Gastrazyme is set apart from similar supplements by the quality of its ingredients and production process: for example‚ the gamma oryzanol is taken from rice bran oil and combined in a proprietary base. With the recommended dosage of three tablets per day‚ this bottle provides a one-month supply of gastrointestinal relief.

Valuable Supplement but Not for Me

Gastrazyme by Biotics Research is so obvious to me that the vitamin U in this product is helpful to heal the gut, as cabbage juice has also been very helpful to me and also my pup. The other concentrated greens in this product are a considerable problem. They are high in salicylate, and if you think about it, this is very similar to the plant version of aspirin. Anti inflammatory, yes, irritating to gut tissue and inhibitory of glycol-proteins which line the gut, also yes. So this absolutely made me worse after a few days, with common symptoms of salicylate sensitivity prevailing all over my body (such as sores on face and hands, ringing in my ears and a burning sensation in my tummy.) I think this is why some people do just fine with this product, and others don't. Depends on what got your gut in trouble in the first place I guess. I would recommend trying it, as it might just be right for you and in theory is a great product, but if it does not work for you, you might look as salicylate as being an issue.

    Pros

      The vitamin U is wonderful

    Cons

The green foods in the product are too concentrated for me.

I would recommend this item to a friend.

Is this supplement okay to take for a customer that has decreased bile production or a thyroid condition? It has carternoids for vitamin A which need to be converted and i have read that's it not good to take those if you have those two types of conditions.

Hi Kathy, we apologize but here at PureFormulas, we cannot make recommendations for our customers because there is so much to take into consideration when doing so. Everyone breaks down, absorbs, and reacts to nutrients differently, and only your healthcare practitioner, that is familiar with your needs, would be able to make a recommendation that is the best for you.
