I am a 66 year old cyclist who suffered a heart attack 3 years ago. Prior to my heart attack I raced for 30+ years. I was a TT specialist State TT Champion and podiumed in that event perhaps 10 times or so. Prior to starting D-Ribose six weeks ago I thought my days of riding 50 miles on a ride was over. Rides just left me blown away and I cannot say more training really helped. Heart drugs really reduce ones ability to produce cellular energy. Ok now I am knocking out 50 mile rides no sweat. I always (before my heart attack) had exercise induced hypoglycemia; now its much less of a problem. Today I just emailed a friend that for the first time I did a 5 mile climb that we regularly do in the big ring. At the gym my chest press went up 45 lbs. in a few weeks. Curls rowing etc. also have gone up 30 lbs. Additionally my muscles are bulking now and I am also picking up definition. Since my heart attack i supplemented with LCarnitine Amino Chelated Mg L-Argenine Alpha Lipoic Acid NAC and CoQ10. Both CoQ10 and D-Ribose made a difference that I could notice. However for me D-Ribose is as effective as drinking water and taking in food on a ride. I take my D-Ribose sublingually 10 grams before the ride and 10 grams during the ride. After I take it on the ride its impact continues to surprise me. Since I am on statins I take Ubiquinone before the ride and Ubiquinol on the ride. I may take as much as 300 or 400 mg on a ride day. Together D=Ribose and CoQ10 just kick butt. I cannot say enough.
