  • Vitamin C with Flavonoids by Thorne Research supplies a synergistic combination of ascorbic acid (more commonly known as vitamin C) and citrus flavonoids in an easy-to-digest vegetarian capsule.

In this supplement‚ you’ll find pure‚ crystalline vitamin C without any magnesium stearate‚ corn starch or other diluents or lubricants. One thing you won’t find in Thorne’s vitamin C with flavonoids is inhibiting flowing agents that interfere with the supplement’s natural bioavailability. Unlike other vitamin C supplements‚ these vegetarian capsules contain natural flavonoids as you would find in citrus fruits.

    Benefits of Vitamin C

Vitamin C is one of the most well-known nutrients throughout the world. This is so because it is a common vitamin‚ but also because it has so many health-promoting qualities. Vitamin C is an important antioxidant‚ which means that it protects your body’s cells from damage caused by free radicals; but it is also involved in synthesizing important neurotransmitters (such as norepinephrine and dopamine)‚ and it plays a role in producing cellular energy. The body needs vitamin C in order to properly metabolizing carbohydrates and synthesizing proteins and fats. Vitamin C also helps support cardiovascular health‚ while keeping your immune system healthy and functioning properly. In addition to all this‚ vitamin C helps with wound healing because it is used in the body’s synthesis of collagen and connective tissue.

You may find the terms vitamin C and ascorbic acid used interchangeably‚ but it is important to note that ascorbic acid only refers to vitamin C in its purest form‚ not vitamin C bound to any other compound. In addition to being pure‚ this vitamin C is mixed with citrus flavonoids‚ which are a combination of naturally-occurring flavonoids. Such flavonoids include hesperidin‚ quercetin and rutin‚ which are also 100 percent pure.

In addition to supporting the immune system‚ connective tissue and cellular energy production‚ many people take vitamin C for its antioxidant activity.

    The Thorne Research Difference

As you have come to expect from Thorne Research‚ this vitamin C supplement is of the utmost quality. Not only is the vitamin C pure (in the form of ascorbic acid) and the citrus flavonoids are pure‚ but Thorne takes its quality assurance to another level. This supplement does not contain any corn starch or other fillers. To get the benefits of vitamin C‚ you don’t necessarily need the added flavonoids‚ it is believed to help improve the efficacy of vitamin C supplements. The presence of flavonoids in the cells spares the vitamin C and boosts antioxidant activity.

Vitamin C is a water-soluble antioxidant that helps stabilize collagen. This function is essential to maintaining health and wellbeing. If you have a deficiency in this vitamin‚ it can cause poor collagen cross-linkage and weak connective tissue. Most people can benefit from vitamin C supplementation‚ but those with certain habits or medical conditions may have a greater need for supplementation. For example‚ pregnant women and people under chronic stress may need more of this nutrient.

Each bottle of Thorne Research’s Vitamin C with Flavonoids contains 180 vegetarian capsules.

Thorne Research strives to provide pure‚ high-quality supplements to people looking to enhance their health and well-being. Its products are commonly used in prestigious research studies‚ and are recommended by many doctors and health care practitioners. The company always goes the extra mile to ensure that Thorne Research dietary supplements are safe and effective for immune-compromised‚ allergic‚ and chemically sensitive patients.

    A great capsule Vita C

I chose Vitamin C with Flavonoids because it is a capsule rather than a tablet. I have taken Vita C that causes heartburn but this capsule does not bother my stomach at all and I feel it is helping my immune system and promoting gum tissue health.

    Pros

      capsule easy on stomach

    Cons

      nothing

I would recommend this item to a friend.
