Quercenase®

Quercenase is a combination of water-soluble quercetin** and bromelain. Bromelain is a compound of proteolytic enzymes derived from the pineapple plant. Bromelain has protein-digesting and immune-enhancing properties.* Bromelain also contains constituents that help maintain the body's normal inflammatory response, and may help the absorption of soluble quercetin.*


Quercetin appears to have many beneficial effects on human health, including cardiovascular protection, as well as protection of the gastrointestinal tract.* A number of quercetin's effects appear to be due to its antioxidant activity.* Quercetin scavenges free radicals and inhibits oxidation of LDL cholesterol.* By itself, and paired with vitamin C, quercetin can reduce the incidence of oxidative damage to skin and nerves caused by glutathione depletion.* Quercetin also stabilizes mast cells that store and release histamine.*


The flavonoid quercetin is ubiquitous in the plant community. It consists of a three-ringed structure with an oxygen molecule at the top of the middle flavonoid ring. It contains five hydroxyl (OH) groups, which gives it potent antioxidant activity.* However, regular quercetin is not water soluble and is poorly absorbed from an oral dose. Thorne Research's water-soluble quercetin is more bioavailable than regular quercetin.

One Capsule Contains:


Quercetin (soluble) 250 mg.


Bromelain (undiluted) 100 mg.


Other Ingredients: Hypromellose (derived from cellulose) capsule. May contain one or more of the following hypoallergenic ingredients to fill space &ndash Magnesium Citrate, Silicon Dioxide.


Water-soluble Quercetin protected under U.S. Patent No. 5,977,184 for Quercetin Chalcone.


Note: This product does not contain lactose. Bromelain is derived from the pineapple plant.

ALLERGY WARNINGS This product is contraindicated in an individual with a history of hypersensitivity to any of its ingredients.

Bromelain is derived from pineapple.

EXCIPIENT FREE This product does not contain wheat, gluten, corn, yeast, soy, egg, dairy products, or artificial colors, sweeteners, or flavors. This product also does not contain lactose, palmitic acid, or magnesium, calcium, or vegetable stearates.

PREGNANCY WARNING If pregnant or nursing, consult your health-care practitioner before using this product.

INTERACTIONS/CONTRAINDICATIONS Because bromelain has fibrinolytic effects that may potentially inhibit blood clotting, Quercenase should be used with caution or avoided in individuals on anticoagulant therapy.

OTHER WARNINGS It is not recommended to remove the Quercenase powder from the capsule, as bromelain can be irritating to the oral mucosa.

Been using Quercenase for four months now and no allergy symptoms. I take two at night and I used to take Rhinocort and Zyrtec. Love!
