Your body contains thousands of cells‚ and you need many nutrients to ensure the proper function of these cells. Phospholipids are lipids (fats and oils) that contain phosphate and support cells by providing energy and aiding cell structure. One of these phospholipids is phosphatidylserine (PS)‚ which is a vital part of the cell membrane that assists with functions such as transporting nutrients and eliminating waste in cells. It helps maintain cellular structure and operation in the brain and throughout the body.
Your body makes phosphatidylserine by itself‚ but a deficiency may result due to stress‚ illness‚ or a poor diet. Low PS levels are associated with problems with memory‚ mental concentration‚ and cognitive ability. You may need a dietary supplement to prevent or treat these issues.
Studies show that phosphatidylserine dietary supplements may help improve mental function for people of all ages in the following areas:
There's also current research that suggests PS supplements may improve athletic performance by aiding the development of muscles. PS reduces the amount of the hormone cortisol released by the body after exercise‚ which may promote increased muscle mass. Each dose of Pure Encapsulations’ PS 100 provides 100 mg of phosphatidylserine. This vegetarian formula contains easy-to-absorb PS derived from soy‚ and has a high phosphatidylserine concentration of 95 to 98 percent.
These vegetable capsules are made with hypoallergenic plant fiber from pine cellulose‚ and don’t contain wheat‚ yeast‚ gluten‚ fillers‚ or preservatives. The recommended dosage of PS 100 by Pure Encapsulations is one capsule three times daily; take with meals for best results. One 60-capsule bottle provides about one month’s worth of supply.
Pure Encapsulations seeks to formulate and manufacture high-quality‚ hypo-allergenic dietary supplements. Quality control during the formulation and manufacturing process is paramount. All Pure Encapsulations products are made with the most bioavailable ingredients possible.

Calming effect before bedtime
My doctor recommended this as I do not sleep well at night. Two of these taken at bedtime does offer a degree of relief. Sometimes my sleep is deeper.

Be careful of stomach irritation
My naturepath doctor had me get PS 100 to lower my very high morning cortisol. It does work on the cortisol but has really irritated my stomach lining to the point I cannot take it. If you already have a touchy stomach be careful with PS 100....even with food.
Does lower cortisol
has caused my gastritis to go nuts
