  • Why take phosphatidylserine?

Phosphatidylserine (PS) is a naturally occurring phospholipid. Like other phospholipids‚ PS is a critical component of cell membranes‚ and it is found in especially high concentrations in the brain and nervous tissues‚ primarily in the cell membranes of neurons.

Research shows that phosphatidylserine supplementation can:

Promote cognitive function and mental sharpness
Support a healthy endocrine response to mental stress
    Help improve exercise capacity
    Why take Phosphatidylserine soy-free?

    100% Soy-Free softgel
Unlike other forms of PS‚ Integrative Therapeutics’ Phosphatidylserine is derived from sunflower oil and is 100% soy-free. While most of the clinical research has utilized either soybean-derived or bovine-sourced phosphatidylserine‚ PS from sunflower oil is chemically indistinguishable and has a comparable fatty acid profile. This makes it an ideal option for those who wish to avoid soy-based or bovine-derived PS alternatives.

    sleep issues and bad breath

Hi at first I was happy to see that Phosphatidylserine does not give me any digestion issues. I also felt alert (better than coffee). But I can only take 1 capsule in the morning any more than that will mess with my sleep. I tried taking 2 and my sleep reduced 2 hours a night (from 5 to 7) and I tried 4 capsules (2 breakfast and 2 lunch) and I only slept 3 hours that night. I gave some to my dad (he is 76) and even he had the same sleep issues... but we both do fine with 1 capsule although i am not sure how therapeutic that dose is... I also noticed it gives me bad breath. I suspect its the type of Gelatin or type of gel capsule they made it with.

    Pros

      works better than coffee

    Cons

messes with sleep and gives bad breath

    Improved clarity

My healthcare practitioner recommended that I take Phosphatidylserine to help with some cognitive issues I was experiencing related to the effects of Lyme Disease and chemical sensitivities. Ive been using Phosphatidylserine for several months and have noticed improved mental functioning; especially a mental clarity that has replaced the occasional brain fog feeling that I would experience.

    Pros

      Soy-free!

    Cons

I would recommend this item to a friend.

    Sleep Aid

My naturopath recommended Phosphatidylserine for a natural sleep aid. I take it with one other product and have discovered that on occasion it does indeed help with sleep. I take 2 pills one hour before bedtime. I cant say that it works every night but it does help.

    Pros

      Sleep aid

    Cons

      The price!

I would recommend this item to a friend.

    Recommended by Doctor

Ive only been on Phosphatidylserine Soy-Free for about 6 weeks and it was recommended to me by my doctor and nutritionist. I value her opinion but I havent been able to tell this early in the process to tell if it has helped or not. I am also taking other suppliments that she has recommended and Im in the process of detoxifying my body from the things I have been eating and not being aware that I was allergic to them. Even though I havent become aware of any new progress I plan to keep on taking it and asking her at my next appointment about how long it takes for me to see a difference.

I would recommend this item to a friend.

    Excellent product

Im on my 3rd bottle of Phosphatidylserine and Ive noticed a significant improvement in my mental function mental clarity and memory. Im only 39 years old but have struggled with mental function for many years due to genetic factors. Ive taken many different supplements for these problems and the phosphatidylserine is among the best. Im allergic to soy so Ive been waiting for a soy-free option for years. Ill probably take it forever.

I would recommend this item to a friend.
