  • Kirkman's Magnesium Citrate Soluble Powder is one of the easiest magnesium supplements to use because it is completely soluble in water-based liquids. Because it contains citric acid‚ it is also buffered when in solution. It dissolves in water‚ juice‚ lemonade or any other water- based liquid. It is non-gritty and has a very pleasant citrus taste that comes from the citric acid present.

This is a hypoallergenic formulation specially designed for individuals with special requirements and sensitivities. There are no artificial flavorings or sweeteners added. This product can also be added to hot water to make a very pleasant tea or can be added to your favorite commercial tea resulting in a nice citrus note. Adults and children will find using this product a great way to supplement magnesium.

As with all magnesium supplements‚ stools can become looser with use. If this occurs‚ cut back on the dosage.

The use and effectiveness of magnesium supplementation is well-documented. Magnesium is an essential mineral that is involved in many body functions‚ as well as being a constituent of bones and teeth. It is essential for elements of cellular metabolism and is an enzyme activator. Other body actions include:

Magnesium relaxes nerve impulses and muscle contractions.
Magnesium promotes relaxation and‚ in the process‚ may aid in restful sleep.
Signs and symptoms of magnesium deficiency can include fatigue‚ mental confusion‚ heart disturbances‚ irritability‚ weakness‚ muscle spasms‚ loss of appetite‚ insomnia or a feeling of weakness. The Physician's Desk Reference for Nutritional Supplements states that recent data of inpatient and outpatient populations suggests that magnesium deficits may exist in from 12% to 40% of individuals.

Magnesium supplements usually have their beginning as minerals that have been influenced by our environment. For that reason‚ the purity of magnesium raw materials is important. Magnesium‚ like calcium‚ can have undesirable impurities present. The responsibility to assure the absence of lead and other heavy metals falls on the manufacturer. Kirkman® uses only the purest forms of magnesium that have been tested for heavy metal content‚ as well as other impurities.

There are many different forms of magnesium‚ and the Physician's Desk Reference for Nutritional Supplements states that there is no compelling data indicating absorption differences. There are reported differences in how different forms affect the gastrointestinal tract‚ however. Below are some guidelines‚ though individual results may vary and should be discussed with your physician before administration.

    oxide: tends to firm stools
glycinate: a very gentle form‚ easier on the system
    citrate: tends to loosen stools
    sulfate: tends to loosen stools
    chloride: tends to loosen stools

    Easy to use.

After I bought this product I read about magnesium transdermal and bought the gel. The gel is easier to use but I still used this presentation and it seems to help with sleeping. Too soon to judge other benefits.

    Pros

      Easy to use.

    Cons

I would recommend this item to a friend.

Makes me sleep like a baby

I was prescibed Magnesium Citrate Soluble Powder by my doctor at the UltraWellness Center in Lenox MA - & at first wasnt crazy about the taste. But almost immediately noticed that I was sleeping much more soundly. I have always been a light sleeper & since menopause found myself tossing & turning alot more frequently. 1/2 to 1 tsp at night takes care of that - I fall right to sleep & sleep deeply all night long. The primary reason I was prescribed Magnesium Citrate Soluble Powder was to help my body process calcium better - but I love the side affect!

    Pros

    Cons

The taste takes a little getting used to - but its worth it!

I would recommend this item to a friend.
