Will do for now ....

Jojoba Oil is the first product I have purchased as a carrier oil to go with my (first) essential oil purchases. The beginning of an experimental trip down a more homeopathic heatlhcare route for my dog. Jojoba Oil came recommended as a carrier oil that has a longer shelf-life and leaves less of a residue on the skin compared with a lot of other oils. I would say that for use on a person it would probably be fantastic and with marginal room for error. I know many people have success with Jojoba Oil for use on their skin and more particularly on their scalp and hair. As far as my canine goes it is a BIT too greasy for me taste, still but he has a double coat so there may not BE an oil to use with my oils on him that will not leave a greasy tell-tale mark. If you have a short-coated breed dog I would recommend starting with Jojoba Oil as a carrier oil for your essential oils. It does not have a smell at all (as far as I can discern) and is a good choice for that reason alone as a carrier oil ------- as essential oils are also therapeutic in an aromatherapy-sense for dogs you do not want an oil that takes away from the natural aromatherapy of the oil/s you have chosen.
Pros:Lack of smell -- Easy to mix essential oils with -- Longer shelf-life
Cons:A bit too greasy for frequent use with my longer-haired, double coated dog
