Each packet in the GlucoModerX™ Targeted
Nutrients for Healthy Glucose Metabolism contains 5 formulas which provide
broad spectrum support for healthy glucose metabolism. Comprised of a
complete multivitamin/mineral designed specifically to treat blood sugar
disorders, DHA and EPA, CoQ10, alphalipoic acid, and the herbal formula
GlucoFX™, this system targets the underlying dysfunction behind many
metabolic abnormalities. The multivitamin/mineral is a foundational therapy,
containing many nutrients known to have specific clinical benefit for
optimal glucose control, including chromium, magnesium, zinc, vanadium,
antioxidants, and B vitamins. DHA and EPA have been shown to reduce
triglyceride levels and blood pressure, restore platelet and vascular
function, and improve a number of cardiovascular risk factors which often
accompany hyperglycemia. CoQ10 also provides clinical benefit by enhancing
cardiovascular function, providing antioxidant support, and optimizing
mitochondrial function and cellular respiration. Alpha-lipoic acid has been
found to reduce oxidative damage, improve glycemic control and insulin
resistance, as well as symptoms of polyneuropathy. The herbal formula
GlucoFX™ contains 7 herbs with well-documented benefit for reducing fasting
glucose and postprandial hyperglycemia, supporting pancreatic
beta cell function, and restoring insulin sensitivity.

Drug Interactions: The
antihypertensive effect of several components may potentially reduce the need or
dosage for blood pressure medications, and patients should be closely monitored.
Similarly close monitoring of patients on anti-diabetic medication is advised,
because some medications may need to be discontinued or have the dose adjusted.
Because fish oil has an antithrombotic effect, caution is advised for those on
anticlotting, antiplatelet, or anticoagulant medications, or those at high risk
of bleeding. Although there is little evidence, a potential interaction is
possible with the anticoagulant warfarin. Close monitoring of the INR is
recommended in these patients.
