Awful Smell & Taste; Contains Lead
July 2, 2014
Some might not be bothered by the smell and taste but I am. I can't speak to what it does for me because I take other adrenal supplements and because I could only drink it once, masked in a protein shake. I don't tolerate added flavors and sweeteners in any drinkable powders. If you like them, you might like this. I didn't notice the additional ingredients before I purchased: "Cane juice evaporate, xylitol, toasted carob, maltodextrin, tangerine natural flavor, vanilla custard natural flavor, silicon dioxide, salt, carrageenan gum. I would never mix carob with tangerine." So much for the Dr.'s suggestion of low carb and sugars. I guess if you're just adrenally sluggish, they're okay.
However, what especially made me cringe is the statement (which isn't shown on this product view): "California Proposition 65 WARNING: This product contains lead, a chemical known to the State of California to cause birth defects or other reproductive harm."
That's not the only issue with lead. If you have adrenal fatigue, one of the best things you can do is detox, which Dr. Wilson promotes. So why he would allow a product with his name on it to contain lead is beyond me. A waste of $35.
Pros:Can add it to a protein drink instead of taking capsules
Cons:Can't smell it without feeling nauseated. Doesn't taste good to me.
