Deproloft-HF is a multi-faceted formula designed to safely enhance mood and cognition. It combines several known mood-enhancing nutrients and botanicals, such as L-tyrosine and 5-HTP, with other key ingredients, including Rhodiola, Eleutherococcus, and PharmaGABA, to promote healthy neurotransmitter and adrenal function.

Deproloft-HF is "Hypericum free." Hypericum (St. John's wort) is a known inducer of cytochrome p450 3A4 (CYP3A4) and thus can reduce blood levels of medications that are metabolized via this enzyme. Because it does not contain Hypericum, Deproloft-HF is suitable for patients who are taking medications that are metabolized by CYP3A4.

Low serum and red blood cell concentrations of vitamin B12 and folate can have an adverse effect on mood. Vitamin B12 supports healthy neurological function and red blood cell formation, two factors that can enhance overall mood and stress management. Deproloft-HF contains 5-MTHF, the active form of folate.

Eleuthero (Eleutherococcus senticosus) is a well-known adaptogen and is included in Deproloft-HF to provide general adrenal support. Gamma aminobutyric acid (GABA), an inhibitory neurotransmitter that balances excessive excitatory responses in the brain, is included to help allay stress and support a calm state of mind. GABA is provided as the patented, all natural-source PharmaGABA. Deproloft-HF is safe and effective for mood enhancement and a valuable addition to any stress management plan.

ALLERGY WARNINGS Deproloft-HF is contraindicated in an individual with history of hypersensitivity to any of its ingredients.

Iodine may occasionally cause an allergic reaction in some individuals.

PURITY This product does not contain wheat, gluten, corn, yeast, soy, egg, dairy products, or artificial colors, artificial sweeteners, or artificial flavors. This product also does not contain lactose, palmitic acid, magnesium stearate, or stearic acid.

PREGNANCY WARNING If pregnant, nursing, or trying to conceive, consult your health-care practitioner before using this product.

INTERACTIONS 5-methyltetrahydrofolate (5-MTHF) supplementation is not recommended concurrent with methotrexate cancer therapy, as it can interfere with methotrexate's anti-neoplastic activity; however, 5-MTHF has not been shown to interfere with the anti-inflammatory activity of methotrexate. An individual taking methotrexate for psoriasis or rheumatoid arthritis can safely take a supplement containing folate.

Tyrosine is contraindicated in individuals taking an MAO inhibitor antidepressant medication.

5-Hydroxytryptophan should be used with caution in an individual currently being treated with an SSRI antidepressant.

ADDITIONAL WARNINGS Vitamin C can cause diarrhea in some individuals in large doses, which can vary from person to person and resolves when the amount is reduced.

mood enhancement

I take two a day and it does regulate my mood. I'm up and down and get to the point i want to run people over in my car, but Deprolof-HF by Thorne Research helps me stay calm and EVEN in my mood swings. I used to take Wellbutrin XL, and it had essentially the same result, but I wanted an over the counter non prescription herb. It works wonders, and it's hard to find. I used to buy at my local pharmica, but they are always out of stock. I can notice a decrease in energy and a bad mood if I forget to take it. No side effects. I think I'm gaining weight because I'm over 40 not because I take Deprolof-HF.

Replaced using the prescription drug, Depakote, for Deproloft HF . I have not experienced side effects, such as allergic reactions or weight gain. I consume 8 capsules daily; 4 in morning, 4 in afternoon as prescribed by my doctor. Deprolof-HF has helped greatly in the severity level of mood cycles.
Pros:
No side effects, especially since removal of St Johns Wort. Can increase dose when mood drops or elevates and assists in keeping my thoughts balanced.
