  • The bladder is a part of your urinary system. It collects urine from your kidneys and passes it through a small tube‚ which enables liquid waste to leave your body. Bladder lining is covered in lots of finger-like protrusions‚ which can attract bacteria called E. coli. When E. coli attaches to your bladder’s wall‚ it can cause urinary tract infections (UTIs) to develop.

Antibiotics are often used to treat these infections‚ and do their job effectively. However‚ they aren’t without their faults. Antibiotics tend to kill both harmful and helpful bacteria; in addition‚ taking them on an ongoing basis may eventually cause them to fail in killing off bacteria in your bladder. A natural method may help alleviate the discomfort of mild urinary tract and bladder infections.

D-Mannose is a sugar that may promote bladder health by flushing out bacteria‚ with little risk of major side effects. Pure Encapsulations’ Cranberry/d-Mannose provides a combination of D-Mannose and cranberry extract to provide double the support. Cranberries are believed to make your urine more acidic‚ which may help fend off unwanted bacteria. This supplement also contains vitamin C‚ which stimulates your immune system and allows it to work harder when fighting off potentially harmful bacteria.

Since D-Mannose is processed differently than other types of sugars‚ it’s less likely to cause a rapid sugar rush (and subsequent crash). These vegetable capsules may also be helpful and safe during pregnancy‚ a time when you’re more prone to developing bladder infections due to the increased pressure your growing baby exerts on your bladder. See your doctor before starting to use this supplement‚ or if you’re suffering from severe or repeated bladder infections.

Each 180-capsule container of Cranberry/d-Mannose by Pure Encapsulations will last you between one to three months‚ depending on your dosage.

Pure Encapsulations seeks to formulate and manufacture high-quality‚ hypo-allergenic dietary supplements. Quality control during the formulation and manufacturing process is paramount. All Pure Encapsulations products are made with the most bioavailable ingredients possible.

Are There Any Potential Side Effects Or Precautions?
If pregnant or lactating‚ consult your physician before taking this product. Cranberry juice and d-mannose have been associated with gastrointestinal upset‚ nausea‚ vomiting‚ and diarrhea in some individuals. d-Mannose should not interfere with blood sugar regulation even for diabetics because so little is absorbed‚ though close monitoring is always advised. Consult your physician for more information.

Are There Any Potential Drug Interactions?
Some in vitro studies suggest that cranberry could alter the way that the liver breaks down medications metabolized by the cytochrome P450 system‚ altering the effects of these medications and possibly the dose needed for treatment. However‚ this has not been demonstrated in human studies. Cranberry may be contra-indicated for individuals on blood thinning medications. Consult your physician for more information.

    Recommended by my Vet

Cranberry/d-Mannose was recommended by my vet for my female dog as she kept having recurring urinary infections...I give this to her daily (1 in breakfast and 1 in dinner meal) and have just ordered another bottle...I will keep her on this indefinitely if it means she doesnt suffer from these the other reviewer stated this formula makes it hard for the bacteria to stick and cause an issue..

I would recommend this item to a friend.

My dog and her bladder thanks you...

My dog is 7 years old and has always had chronic urinary tract infections. The strain is called Proteus Mirabilis and it is quite hard to fight off. I have tried everything and only been able to kill the infection just for it to come right back with antibiotics. This product combined with antibiotics every 3rd day and probiotics on every day except for the antibiotic day has helped to keep the infection at bay for the past couple of years. It basically makes it harder for the infection to stick to the uterine walls and helping to create a healthy environment for her to heal correctly.

It works well with little to no side effects.

Been out of work for a while so it would be nicer if it were a little less expensive but I guess you get what you pay for and this is a good product recommended by a homeopathic veterinarian.

I would recommend this item to a friend.
