Sheep Sorrel (Rumex acetosella) – Traditionally used for fevers‚ infammation‚ scurvy‚ diarrhea and syphilis. Folk medicine uses
include stomach aliments‚ liver and biliary ailments and purifcation of the blood.
Slippery Elm (Ulmus rubra) – Valued by American Indians and herbalists because of its mucilage properties which help soothe
irritations‚ disperse infammation‚ draw out impurities‚ speed healing and strengthen the body. A primary use has been to soothe and
heal irritated and infamed surfaces of various mucous membranes with conditions like infammation of the bowel‚ gastric ulcers‚ lung

observed by traditional practitioners that in small doses Turkey Rhubarb has a tonic effect as a blood builder and blood cleanser‚ and
is known to increase salivary and gastric fow‚ improve appetite and cleanse the liver by encouraging bile fow.
White Willow Bark (Salix alba) – Aspirin contains salicylic acid which was frst isolated and derived from the bark of White Willow. It
was used by Dioscorides in the frst century A.D. for pain and infammation. It has also been used traditionally for fevers‚ headaches‚
sciatica‚ arthritis‚ rheumatism‚ as a nerve sedative and topically as an antiseptic.
Red Clover (Trifolium pratense) – Known for its alterative properties‚ it has been used traditionally for its blood purifying qualities
and to assist with drainage in skin and joint disease. It has also been used as a tonic for the nerves‚ a nutritive for many forms of
degenerative diseases‚ as a liver and gall bladder stimulant and to ease arthritic pain by ridding the system of uric acid.
