Cortisol is a steroid hormone produced by your adrenal glands. Improper levels of this hormone can be very problematic because it can affect so many different aspects of your body; these include your immune system, nervous
system, bones, circulatory system, and more. There are also different diseases that are associated with the body’s improper production of cortisol, such as Cushing syndrome (which is caused by too much cortisol exposure) and Addison’s
disease (which can be a result of not enough cortisol in your body).
Your doctor can do a blood test to determine your cortisol levels: if they’retoo high or too low, he or she may suggest that you begin taking a supplement. Biotics
Research’s ADHS is one supplement that has been tested and been shown to help regulate these levels.
Some of the ingredients that ADHS contains include:
Vitamin C (as ascorbic acid)—an essential vitamin that your body needs for a
number of different functions
Vitamin E—an antioxidant that protects the different tissues of your body. It is also used by your cells for many other purposes
Thiamin—a vitamin essential to the proper functioning of your nervous
system, heart, and muscles
Riboflavin—a vitamin that is essential for growth and the production of red blood cells
L-Tyrosine—an amino acid that has been shown to relieve some symptoms of certain nervous system disorders
Damiana—a
shrub that grows in the wild, which has shown to help treat depression and help boost mental stamina, among other benefits
One bottle of ADHS contains a 30 to 60-day supply, depending on the dosage that is taken. The recommended dosage is
two tablets, once or twice daily.
